Story By: MARK RETTE / RETTE JONES RACING – MOORESVILLE, NC – Officials from Rette Jones Racing (RJR) announced today an unexpected adjustment to their upcoming NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) program involving female sensation Dominique Van Wieringen.

The lack of sponsorship will sideline Van Wieringen from competing in her second full K&N Pro Series East season aboard the team’s flagship No. 30 Ford Fusion car. Pending sponsorship, Van Wieringen could run select races as a teammate to NASCAR Next driver Tyler Dippel who joined Rette Jones Racing in December.

“Dominique will always have a home at Rette Jones Racing,” said team principal Mark Rette.

“Dominique did an incredible job throughout her rookie season in the K&N Pro Series East. The entire team was working hard building cars that we’d hope would allow her to carry her late season momentum into the new year at New Smyrna. Unfortunately, the dynamics have changed and we don’t expect to run two cars for the season-opener next weekend.”

With the unforeseen circumstances surrounding Van Wieringen, Dippel, a native of Wallkill, N.Y. will move to the No. 30 D and A Concrete Contractor / TYCAR Trenchless Technologies Ford Fusion for next weekend’s JET Tools 150 at New Smyrna (Fla.) Speedway with Rette serving as crew chief.

Rette adds that despite Van Wieringen’s situation, the Mooresville, North Carolina-based team is still focused on expanding their program this season.

“We have a lot of inquiries to run our second car throughout the season,” he added. “That’s the plan. My partner Terry (Jones) and I believe that adding a second car to our roster will further strengthen our team. Whether Dominique or another driver is at the wheel, we have the confidence in our program that we can put two race winning cars on the track at any given time.”
