How does 2010 look so far for you? Its looking alot better then 2009, I did not get to run at all, I was sidelined with a work related accident and broke my right hand which took most of the season to get healed so were very optimistic about 2010 season
What changes are you making for this season? we are running sportsman on asphalt at Albany Saratoga Speedway and Devils Bowl Speedway
Was 2009 the season you wanted? no it was not , with sitting out all season with the broken hand
What is the strongest part of your team going into 2010? our drive and determination to do the best we can with what we have and make the most out of our season coming
Where do you feel you need to improve? getting the confidance in the equipment and in myself that i can get the job done.
What is your weekly maintanence schedule like at the shop? the normal routine weekly maintenance on the bicknell and the sprint car requires alot more maintenance, with having to go thru the injection after each race and cleaning the nozzels and filters and blowing lines out to cleaning car and setting up for next track, its a busy operation.
Do you feel it is tougher to win a race or run for the championship? I feel its equally tough, maybe more so for a championship because you have to be consistant week after week and not get wrecked and have any DNF's, every week you have an oppurtunity to win if you put yourself out there and have good equipment and be smooth, some guys are wreckers or checkers, i believe you sometimes you need to take some chances but not put yourself or someone else in danger.
You have been racing for several years now. Do you see yourself doing this for a while? If so, do you see yourself going further in racing? I do see myself doing this for as long as my pocket and my body will aloow me to, only time wiill tell what will come first, and no, i feel i am happy running what we are and do not wanna go further.
Racing is a physically demanding sport. Do you have a regimen to prepare yourself? i try to keep myself focused mentally and i like to walk alot and try and eat healthy, i'm not a gym rat, so im not into that.
Do you plan on traveling to any races other than your home track(s) this coming year? I plan on running devils bowl, airborne speedway with the sportsman and maybe Utica Rome with the sprint car and maybe Middletown.
You have had some great sponsors for your teams in previous years. Has the recession hurt your team for this year, or has it allowed you to take some different direction in marketing? it has hurt some, , my sponsors have cut back some , but we still have some fine product support sponsors that are very helpfull, Like DMI and FK Rod Ends and Team Simpson.
How big is family with you and your race team? its very big, my dad has helped me more than I could ever repay and my brother in law and his company has helped, so between the financial support and moral support, family means alot to me.
What would it mean to win the championship in 2010? it would be a lifetime dream come true
Any Hobbies outside of racing? fishing, walking, R/C racing, Pool, Bowling, Nascar
Any Special notes you want to share? I cant Thank My Family Friends & Sponsors Enough, Without Them, I would Not Be Here. |
