INDIANAPOLIS, IN- May 24, 2013-
Applying lessons from the classroom and taking them to the racetrack will be the focus of “The Future of Fast,” an INDYCAR-themed STEM education program beginning in 2013.

INDYCAR hopes to interest future engineers, mechanics and race fans by igniting their passion for math and science through the educational aspects of the sport. INDYCAR has formed a partnership for this initiative with Project Lead The Way, the nation’s leading provider of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curriculum, and Jostens, a top provider of products, programs and services for schools.

"Super" Matt Sheppard Hoping for Another Trip to Victory Lane June 5 at Rolling Wheels Raceway

ELBRIDGE, NY- May 23, 2013- In less than two weeks, the points chase for the Super DIRTcar Series championship title begins with the DIRTcar Hall of Fame 60 race at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park. Set for Wednesday, June 5, the first points event of the season for the Big-Block Modified tour may serve as a litmus test for the rest of the series.

"Rolling Wheels will probably be a good pH to see which cars are going to be fast and which guys are going to be in the championship hunt this year," said Matt Sheppard, who won the last three annual Hall of Fame events at Rolling Wheels as well as the last three Super DIRTcar Series titles. "As long as we come of there with a good run and start the series off the right way I think we'll be in good shape."

Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints Celebrate Memorial Day at Fonda and Utica-Rome

SYRACUSE, NY- May 23, 2013- The first two race stint of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) 30th Anniversary Tour will be the traditional stops at the Fonda and Utica-Rome Speedways to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend. All the stars and cars from the Lucas Oil backed tour will be out in force at two of ESS’ faithful speedways.

On Saturday it will be the annual Earl Halaquist Memorial which will pay the winner $2,000. The Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee was from nearby Sydney, NY and Fonda is perfect place to carry on the legacy.

The next night it’s the first of four stops to Gene Cole’s half-mile in Vernon. Once again the winged machines will occupy all three of the holiday weekends. But, what is new this year, a mere one week after our Labor Day visit will be the $7,000 to win first annual Cole Cup.

Action Track USA has Successful Opener

Carber, Raifsnider, & Rain Win Goldie Meitzler Memorial In Jeffrey Hogue Action Track Opener

KUTZTOWN, PA- May 23, 2013- The first race at the new JeffreyHogueRealtor.com Action Track USA had a little bit of everything...even that four-letter word that is hated at every race track in the modern world.

A huge crowd packed the aluminum stands for the season opening Goldie Meitzler Memorial Race and a total of 117 racecars filled the pit area. And, in the middle of the evening's second feature, rain began to pelt the facility. The precipitation, along with the fact that all those cars forced the program to run long - inching closer and closer to the mandatory 10:30 curfew - was just enough to force the hand of co-promoters Rich Tobias and Doug Rose. The second feature on the track, for the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Slingshots, was declared official and the rest of the event was postponed.
