LAKE CITY, MI- August 24, 2014-
Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky., topped a back-and-forth battle with Brady Smith of Solon Springs, Wis., midway through Saturday's NAPA Merritt 50 A-Main at Merritt Speedway and pulled away in the closing laps to earn his 13th World of Outlaws Late Model Series victory of the season.

The 44-year-old Lanigan, a two-time series champion and current points leader, earned $10,650 for his series-leading 66th career WoO LMS victory and his first triumph at Merritt's 3/8-mile oval.

Saturday night, Donny Schatz did what no other World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series driver before him has ever done - with his win on the second night of the Oil City Cup at Castrol Raceway he became the first driver to sweep all five Canada events in a single season.

MINERSVILLE, PA- August 24, 2014- A persistent rain shower that hit the track after the completion of three heat races forced the cancellation of the racing events scheduled at Big Diamond Speedway on Friday August 22nd. With the cancellation, Rick Laubach was crowned the 2014 Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic DIRTcar 358 Modified Point Champion. Wayne Witmer was crowned the 2014 USS Achey Sportsman Point Champion. The championships were a first for both drivers at Big Diamond Speedway.

MALTA, NY- August 24, 2014- Just over one year ago Mark Kislowski sat in victory lane for the first time at The Great Race Place. The Ballston Lake driver backed up that inaugural win this past Friday night with another trip to victory lane in the Upstate GMC Dealers DIRTcar Modified feature event.

By starting the 35 lap feature event, Garden State certain Hall of Famer Brett Hearn clinched the 2014 Track Championship. The title is Hearn’s seventh track championship at the Malta oval and third consecutive. Only Kenny Tremont, Jr. has more track championships at Albany-Saratoga (12). Since Hector Stratton won the track championship in 1993 the only driver to be crowned Dirt Modified track champion at the track not named Tremont or Hearn was Dave Camara. Camara was the champion in 2000 and 2001.
