MERCER, PA- August 27, 2014- Dale Blaney threw the monkey off his back. He won his first career Sprint Car race at Mercer Raceway Park, and it came against the All Stars Circuit of Champions Sprint Car Series. The win came on the first night of the 25th Annual Western Pennsylvania Sprint Car Championship presented by Bonnell’s Rod Shop. To get it, the nation’s winningest Sprint Car driver had to fight off the challenges of Jac Haudenschild.

LASALLE, IL- August 27, 2014- The return of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to LaSalle Speedway will have to wait until 2015. Citing scheduling conflicts and financial setbacks suffered from rainouts earlier in the season, officials at the quarter-mile Illinois oval on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the track's WoO LMS event scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 11.
"Six months ago it seemed like a good idea, but we've struggled just like everyone with rainouts," LaSalle Speedway co-promoter Tony Izzo Jr. said. "We lost a few races earlier in the year that help us financially so that we can put on other big races, and it being a Thursday night with school back in, I just feel like this is the best decision."

BECHTELSVILLE, PA- August 27, 2014- The Granddaddy of dirt track Modified stock car racing classics, the Freedom 76, is set for Saturday, September 13th at Grandview Speedway. $25,000 plus other perks wait for the winner of the 44th annual classic.
Added to the weekend of racing action for the first time is a Friday, September 12th, doubleheader show of ARDC Midgets and Race of Champions Sportsman stock cars. In addition Modified racers planning to race on Saturday will be invited to participate in practice sessions as part of the Friday night show.
