VERNON, NY- April 21, 2014- After a seemingly endless winter, spring seems to have finally have found its way into Central New York and with that comes the much anticipated start to the 2014 season at Utica-Rome Speedway.  This Sunday, April 27, the 53rd season is set to begin at the famed Vernon oval with a full show of Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks, and Pure Stocks.

MECHANICSBURG, PA- April 21, 2014- The All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints are set to compete at Williams Grove Speedway this Friday, April 25 at 7:30 pm.  The event will be the first attack of the year on the track by an invading circuit set to do battle with the Pennsylvania Posse sprint stars.

The All Stars and the Posse will compete in a 30-lap main event paying $5,000 to win.

SUSQUEHANNA, PA- April 21, 2014- The mighty modifieds will take center stage when the gates swing open at Penn Can Speedway on Friday April 25TH with the running of “The Can Opener.” The night will feature modifieds in action in a big thirty five lap feature event paying the winner $1500 sponsored by Don’s Automotive Mall. Modified teams will draw for heat race starting positions with the top finishers redrawing for the feature event. Last season Grant Hilfiger beat Billy Thornton and Joey Colsten to the line to claim the top prize. A strong field of modifieds is expected for the first of several big events on the 2014 schedule for the modified teams.

CENTER LISLE, NY- April 21, 2014-
A smooth, fast racing surface greeted more than 30 race cars on Saturday afternoon at Thunder Mountain Speedway for the first of two open practice sessions and the start to a new era of racing at the Center Lisle, N.Y., facility.

For the first time in 2014 – and under the ownership of speedway founder Karl Spoonhower, who reacquired the keys to Thunder Mountain last fall following a seven-year absence – the rumble of race cars returned to the three-eighths-mile, banked oval just outside of Whitney Point.

WEST LEBANON, NY- April 20, 2014- Lebanon Valley Speedway in Upstate NY came alive again for the 2nd week in a row with wild dirt racing action.  Brett ‘The Jet’ Hearn scores his first victory on the season, while Robbie Speed won back to back in Pro Stocks.  Opening night for the Budget Sportsman saw Michael Sabia get his first win on the 2014 season as well.

Even though the weather was a little on the cool side, families packed the stands for a night of hot racing action on the mighty high banks at Lebanon Valley Speedway.

It only took two weeks before defending modified track champion Stewart Friesen got back to victory lane at Fonda as he took home the 21st win of his career at the ‘Track of Champions” on Saturday evening in the Park’s Companies sponsored #1F.

“We had a great race car tonight,” Friesen said. “We had some bad luck last week with a parts failure so it was good to get back to victory lane tonight.”

BECHTELSVILLE, PA- April 20, 2014- Last season at Grandview Speedway Doug Manmiller was only able to muster up one feature victory to his credit in the NASCAR Modified division. On Saturday night he won his second feature race of the season and showed that he is planning to be a factor in the chase for the point title.

Defending champion Jared Umbenhauer drove to his second win of the season in the Sportsman division while past champion Chuck Schutz got his first win of the season in the Late Model feature race.

ROSSBURG, OH- April 20, 2014- Dave Darland’s assault on the record books will be a year-long theme in 2014, and he visited victory lane for the first time in National competition on the season in the AMSOIL Sprint Car “Don Branson/Jud Larson Classic” Saturday night at Eldora Speedway. For the Lincoln, Indiana native, it was the 48th Sprint Car score of his legendary career, and now the 22nd consecutive year he has won in USAC National competition. That streak breaks a tie with A.J. Foyt & Mel Kenyon for the all-time record.

UNION, KY- April 20, 2014- Darrell Lanigan and Jimmy Owens shared center stage in what was a hard-fought short-track Saturday night battle of Club 29 race cars at Florence Speedway.

Lanigan came out on top after a last lap attempt by Owens and capture his first-career Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals by Schaeffer’s Oil victory which was worth $5,000 to the hometown driver taking the payday in front of a great crowd during the 38th annual Spring 50.
