Albany-Saratoga set for Season Opener this Friday

The Points Chase at 'The Great Race Place' Begins Friday, April 18th

MALTA, NY- April 17, 2014- The Albany-Saratoga Speedway is set to wave the green flag for the first official time on Friday evening. The season opener will be the third under promoter Lyle DeVore and staff. The night’s activities will begin at 7pm.

On tap for the 2014 season opener will be the DIRTcar Modifieds, Sportsman, DIRTcar Pro Stock, Limited Sportsman, Street Stocks and Four Cylinders. In addition, the band, “The Just Looking Band” will be on hand for a pre-race concert. Also on hand will be Mickey the Clown who will be giving out free balloons to the kids.

KNOXVILLE, IA- April 17, 2014- The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum has announced this year’s featured attraction will be the Salute to Champion Steve Kinser special exhibition.

The display, consisting of at least six cars that the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee drove during his illustrious career, will be in the non-profit museum from June 13 through Nov. 1. It follows similar exhibitions honoring Tony Stewart (2011), Jeff Gordon (2012) and Mario Andretti (2013).

The latest announcement coming out of Yates County Speedway is a big one.  The Race of Champions Dirt Modified Series will visit the Dundee, New York oval on Tuesday, May 13the at 7:00 p.m.  The ground pounding Race of Champions Dirt Modifieds will be competing in the Northeast Showdown.  The 60 lap feature will pay $5,000 to win and will be joined on the card by the Crate Sportsman.
