Kutztown, Pa. May 23,2013... The first race at the new JeffreyHogueRealtor.com Action Track USA had a little bit of everything...even that four-letter word that is hated at every race track in the modern world.

A huge crowd packed the aluminum stands for the season opening Goldie Meitzler Memorial Race and a total of 117 racecars filled the pit area. And, in the middle of the evening's second feature, rain began to pelt the facility. The precipitation, along with the fact that all those cars forced the program to run long - inching closer and closer to the mandatory 10:30 curfew - was just enough to force the hand of co-promoters Rich Tobias and Doug Rose. The second feature on the track, for the NAPA Auto Parts All Star Slingshots, was declared official and the rest of the event was postponed.

2014 NACAR Hall of Fame Class Anounced

Flock, Ingram, Jarrett, Petty and Roberts Comprise List Of New Inductees

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. May 22, 2013... NASCAR announced today the inductees who will comprise the 2014 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five-person group – the fifth in NASCAR Hall of Fame history – consists of Tim Flock, Jack Ingram, Dale Jarrett, Maurice Petty and Fireball Roberts. Next year’s Induction Day is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, broadcast on Fox Sports 1 from Charlotte, N.C.

The 54-member NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel met today in a closed session in Charlotte, N.C., to vote on the induction class of 2014. NASCAR Chairman and CEO Brian France made the announcement this evening in the NASCAR Hall of Fame’s “Great Hall.”

Last weekend’s season opener produced some great racing, and we look forward to doing it all over again this week as Frenchie’s Chevrolet presents the first round of the ‘Frenchie’s Chevy Runs Deep’ 358 Modified Series and Memorial Cup race, along with a full program for Sportsman, Pro Stocks, Mod Lites and Bandits.

Last year’s Frenchie’s Champion Billy Dunn will be back to defend his title as the ‘Chevy Runs Deep’ Series gets underway for 2013.  Friday night’s 50 lap feature will also be the annual Memorial Cup event at MIR.

NEW EGYPT, N.J. – May 21, 2013 ...World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series championship leader Daryn Pittman is having the best season of his career, but he outdid himself Tuesday night in the NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Classic at New Egypt Speedway.

First he led 17 drivers in shattering the nearly 12-year-old track record in qualifying, then worked past Sammy Swindell on Lap 6 in the A-main and drove to his series-leading fifth victory of the season in the Kasey Kahne Racing Great Clips GF1, becoming the first driver in 2013 to set quick time and then go win the feature.

Memorial Weekend Tradition Continues at 'The Steel Palace'

Shampine Memorial Headlines Historic Weekend Events

OSWEGO, NY. May 20, 2013... Since 1954, Oswego Speedway has carried the tradition of staging auto racing events on Memorial Day Weekend, and that tradition will continue this Saturday, May 25.

The Speedway will play host to the Memorial Day Weekend ‘Triple-Header’ this weekend featuring the Jim Shampine Memorial Novelis Supermodified 75, the Richie Evans Memorial Race of Champions Modified 75, and the Tony White Memorial Pathfinder Bank SBS 35.

Through the history of Memorial Day Weekend racing at the Speedway no driver has won more events than Jim Shampine, with a total of nine.  All of Shampine’s wins came in the decade of the 1970’s, three times scoring more than one main event win on the same evening.
